The Crying Boy is a minor character in Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2. He is the first character Gru encounters after he is revealed.

Plot

Despicable Me

He is seen at the start of the movie. When he drops his ice cream, Gru makes a balloon animal to replace his ice cream. However, he pops it due to his despicable behavior.

Despicable Me 2

He is seen during the Stuff-A-Bear shop on the CCTV footage. An employee stuffs over-stuffs a stuffed animal, and it pops, causing the boy to cry.

Trivia

• In a deleted scene of Despicable Me where Gru was blown up by Vector's bomb, the boy takes his revenge with his other two friends.
