Despicable Score Multiplier (top middle) seen when playing the game

The Despicable Score Multiplier (DSM) was a point index in Minion Rush. It was one of the ways to quantity the despicableness of the minion in the game.

Description[]

Despicable multiplier used to act an important role of the game, because it modified the total score system. Every action such as running for meters, collecting Bananas, punching Minions, smashing objects with the Freeze Ray or as the Evil Minion when activating the PX-41 serum (all counted as Despicable Actions) and collecting Stars on the Moon gave the player certain points. These points multiplied by the DSM factor gave the overall total score during a run. The higher the DSM, the higher scores runners achieved. Certain online tournaments awarded special prizes for players who scored the highest scores in Leaderboards. In current updates, as of the beginning of the 5-Year Celebration update, the goal in the game has changed and DSM is no longer available. There is, however, a similar score system that counts only in the Workout Room and that is dependent on the Rank level, which is limited (maximum is 40) and the maximum multiplier is x41. This extra point is not clear where it comes from.

There was a distinction in Base and Temporary Multiplier. The Base Multiplier (permanent) required purchasing and sometimes upgrading costumes as well as collecting enough fruits from the jelly machine upon unlocking a new Area in Jelly Lab (versions 2.0 until 5.7.0). In the original, pre-Jelly Lab versions (1.0 until 1.8.1) the Base Multiplier was dependent on the costumes that were purchased with their upgrades as well, in addition to completing certain Tasks in the game. The higher the multiplier, the harder it became to build it up, requiring more and more tasks to complete. The highest pre-jelly lab DSM that was achieved from tasks only, as it has been reported with evidence so far, is x25.

The Temporary Multiplier was a feature that applied in both pre-Jelly lab and Jelly Lab versions. It increased only by committing Despicable Actions. At the beginning of the run, three Despicable Actions were required to increase it by 1 point and then, the higher it went up the more Despicable Actions it required until a certain point where there was a fixed highest amount of Despicable Actions to be made for further increase.

A table was created below to explain the multiplier system as it was reported at the end of the Jelly Lab, in version 5.7.0.

The Base Multiplier (xDSM) is the sum of the number in the first table and the number in the second. In conclusion, the total DSM that was possible in Jelly Lab was x549. The above table belongs only to the Android / iOS version. There have been different calculations in other platforms, for example in Chinese version of the game the costume multiplier was almost always x5 for all of the costumes, making the total DSM a lot higher.
