Gertrude[1] is a minor character. She is a neighbor of Gru, Jillian, and Fred, and she currently lives in the retirement home Fuzzy Memories.
Appearance
Gertrude is an aged woman with white hair and humpbacked. Despite her age, she still drives in the street. She is also interested in Tai Chi and rollerblading, while she can never do well the latter one due to her clumsiness.
Plot
Despicable Me
Gertrude drives slowly in the residential area; a man honks and cuts her off but the same thing is soon done by Gru, who is driving back to his house by his large vehicle, Grumobile.
Despicable Me 2
After the night Lucy kissed him, Gru walks to the Paradise Mall delightly; in his way, he even does Tai Chi with some ladies (including Gertrude) at the park in downtown. Yet, later Gru is notified the Lucy is going to Australia, he becomes upset. When he goes home, he goes straight through the ladies and even offensively pushes Gertude away.
Puppy
Just like many of her neighbors, Gertrude also owns a dog. Once, she and her neigbors walk their dogs in the Residential area, which motivates Dave to find a pet for his own.
Mower Minions
It is shown that Gertrude is one of the residents in Fuzzy Memories. While the Minions fails to mow the lawn and causes chaos, one of the ladies in the retirement home conforts them and say that they haven't been laughed since Gertrude took up rollerblading - at the same time, Gertrude tries again but she falls to the ground hard eventually.
