Joe is a two-eyed minion with combed hair. In Despicable Me, he had spiky hair.

When Gru tells him "How's the family?", he carries a match while a minion fires up a blowtorch on his face after saying "Hey, Good, good".

Joe appeared alongside Kevin and his fellow chef enthusiasts. He wears a chef's hat with his name on it.

- When Felonius Gru asks him about his family, it's possible this could be referencing Gru asking Kevin (Despicable Me) about his family in Despicable Me as an adult.
- Even though Gru mentions his name, he is confused with Dave.
