Johnny is an upcoming American computer-animated crime film produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is the spin-off and the third installment overall in the Sing franchise. Directed by Dexter Fletcher, screenplay by Garth Jennings (director of Sing and Sing 2), and Jennings. It stars Taron Egerton, Peter Serafinowicz and Letitia Wright reprising their roles, with Danny Huston, Amandla Stenberg, Frank Dillane, Jim Parsons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Steve Coogan, Joe Keery and Joseph Quinn also starring.


After the events of Sing 2, Johnny must give up his purpose of singing, and confront his past in order to clear his father's name after an unknown robbery led by Salvatore Malone who seeks vengeance for his life of prison.


  • Taron Egerton as Johnny, a talented teenage mountain gorilla who enjoys singing, dancing and being a pianist and now seeks to confront his past and clear his father's name.
  • Danny Huston as Salvatore "Sal" Malone, a ruthless gorilla crime lord and former partner of Big Daddy who he tries to get revenge on for choosing Johnny over him and their work.
  • Peter Serafinowicz as Big Daddy, Johnny's father and a former criminal who needs his name to be cleared after being framed and blamed for an unknown robbery.
  • Amandla Stenberg as Demi, a female Western lowland gorilla, and Johnny's love-interest.
  • Frank Dillane as Cooper, a short Orangutan who becomes Johnny's new best friend.
  • Letitia Wright as Nooshy, a lynx street dancer who is one of Johnny's closest friends.
  • Jim Parsons as Bugsy Daniels, a sarcastic panther and Sal's second-in-command.
  • Steve Coogan as Kenneth, an elderly turtle who allies with Johnny after finding his shell.
  • Joe Keery and Joseph Quinn are Clark and Finn, two twin donkeys who's Johnny befriends.
  • Michael Stuhlbarg as Dawson Hugh, a billionaire goat who is a bait to Sal and his gang.
