Maria Perez is the ex-wife of Eduardo Pérez and the mother of Antonio Perez.
She doesn't physically appear in Despicable Me 2, but Eduardo makes it clear that he dearly misses her, as seen when he comforts Felonius Gru over Lucy Wilde leaving for Australia at the Cinco de Mayo party and claims he knew the "look of the broken heart" and contemplates that he had once attempted to "drown his sorrows in guacamole", alluding to Maria.
