President of the Bank of Evil
|“||I love everything about your plan. Except for one thing: You.||”|
— Mr. Perkins, speaking with Gru
Perkins was a selfish, greedy, ugly, plump, rude, and short-tempered man. He showed a dislike for Gru and stated that he preferred to use younger villains, such as his son. He also compared Gru to an apple and crushed two apples when speaking to him on different occasions. Perkins was angry with his son for losing the shrink ray, but it is implied that he cared about him because of the picture of himself giving Vector a piggy-back ride when Vector was a child.
Mr. Perkins is the president of the Bank of Evil, but the bank was formerly known as Lehman Brothers bank, one of the known banks that was closed down from the fall out of the economy. And as an ending result to the SEC (Securities Exchange Commision), indicating that their illegitimate practices are in fact Evil. (At least in the minds of the parents watching the film)
