Universal Pictures (sometimes called Universal City Studios or Universal Studios for short, or just simply Universal) is an American motion picture film studio which is owned by Comcast through its subsidiary, NBCUniversal. It is one of the six major movie studios. Universal Pictures produces some of the highest-grossing films at the time, such as Jaws in 1975, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial in 1982 and Jurassic Park in 1993. It is also the parent of Illumination Entertainment.

It is the major film company that distributes Despicable Me as well as Illumination Entertainment's other movies. Some Illumination movies, such as Hop and Minions, have variants on the Universal Pictures logo including its size and theme.
